Editorial policy

USAFinCalc is an independent financial calculator platform. This page explains how we maintain accuracy, handle potential conflicts of interest, and approach our editorial work.

Our principles

Independence
Advertisers and affiliate partners have no say in how our calculators work or what our content says. Results are based on public government data, full stop.
Accuracy over simplicity
Where a calculation is genuinely complex, we show the complexity. We don't round numbers or oversimplify formulas just to make results look cleaner or more impressive.
Transparency about limitations
Every calculator includes notes on its assumptions. We label estimates clearly and never present projections as guarantees — because they aren't.
No financial advice
USAFinCalc gives you tools for estimation and planning. Nothing here is financial, tax, or legal advice. For decisions that really matter, talk to a qualified professional.

How we handle affiliate relationships

Some pages on USAFinCalc contain affiliate links — if you click through to a product like TurboTax or a mortgage lender and sign up, we may earn a referral fee. We label these clearly when they appear. The fee never changes what a calculator shows or how we write about a product. We don't recommend things we wouldn't use ourselves, and no partner gets to influence our editorial content.

If you're ever unsure whether a link is affiliated, assume it might be — and know that it doesn't affect the accuracy of anything we publish.

Corrections policy

We fix errors fast and we're transparent about it. If we find a mistake — whether we caught it ourselves or a reader flagged it — we correct it, add a revision date to the page, and note what changed. We don't quietly edit things and pretend nothing happened.

Found something that looks off? Send us a message. We investigate every accuracy report, usually within 24 hours.

Update schedule

Calculators don't update themselves — here's when we review them:
