1. Not Professional Advice
Everything on usafincalc.com — calculators, articles, guides — is built for education and general information. It's not a substitute for advice from a licensed professional who knows your actual situation. Specifically, nothing here constitutes:
- Tax advice from a CPA or Enrolled Agent
- Financial planning advice from a CFP
- Legal advice from a licensed attorney
- Investment advice from a Registered Investment Advisor
- Accounting advice of any kind
These tools help you understand your finances and ask better questions. They don't replace a professional who can see your full picture.
2. Estimates Only — Results May Vary
Every calculator on this site produces estimates. Your actual tax bill, take-home pay, retirement balance, or mortgage payment may differ from what we show, because of:
- State and local tax rules not fully captured by our calculators
- Individual deductions, credits, and exemptions unique to your situation
- Changes in tax law after our last update
- Rounding differences vs. official IRS computation methods
- Additional income sources not entered into the calculator
- Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) applicability
- Phase-outs and limitations that vary by income level
3. Data Accuracy & Updates
We source our numbers directly from IRS publications and update every January when new figures are released. We also update mid-year when significant changes occur. That said, tax law moves fast sometimes — there can be a gap between a new rule taking effect and our update going live. For anything you're actually filing or submitting, verify current figures at IRS.gov or with a tax professional.
4. Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click through to a product or service and make a purchase or sign up, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. This never changes how our calculators work or what we write. We only link to services we think are genuinely worth knowing about.
5. No Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, USAFinCalc and its contributors are not liable for any loss or harm resulting from:
- Reliance on any calculator result, article, or other content on this site
- Errors or omissions in the information provided
- Tax penalties, underpayments, or audit outcomes
- Financial decisions made based on content from this site
- Inaccuracies resulting from changes in law after publication
6. Third-Party Links
We sometimes link to external sites — IRS.gov, TurboTax, Betterment, and others. We're not responsible for what those sites say or do, and a link shouldn't be read as a full endorsement of everything on that site.
7. IRS Circular 230 Notice
Any U.S. federal tax content on this site is not intended to be used, and cannot be used, to avoid IRS penalties or to promote any tax transaction to another party. This is a standard disclosure required under IRS Circular 230.
8. When You Should Definitely Talk to a Pro
Our calculators are great for planning and getting a ballpark. But some situations call for a real professional:
- Tax questions — a CPA or Enrolled Agent, especially for business income, rental properties, or anything complicated
- Investment questions — a fee-only RIA or CFP
- Legal questions — a licensed attorney in your state
- Mortgage questions — a licensed mortgage broker who can give you actual loan estimates
9. Changes to This Disclaimer

Where Our Data Comes From
When our calculators reference specific tax figures, here's the source for each:
- IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-32 — 2026 inflation-adjusted tax parameters
- IRS Publication 15 (Circular E) — Employer's Tax Guide (FICA rates)
- IRS Publication 501 — Standard deduction and filing information
- IRS Notice 2025-67 — 2026 retirement plan contribution limits
- SSA Publication No. 05-10035 — Social Security retirement benefits
Tax law changes frequently. For the most current figures, check IRS.gov directly.
This Site Doesn't Create a Professional Relationship
Using USAFinCalc doesn't create any kind of advisor-client or fiduciary relationship. We're a financial information publisher — not a licensed financial advisor, tax preparer, broker-dealer, or attorney. The tools here are for estimation and planning, not for replacing professional judgment.
Known Calculator Limitations
A few things our calculators don't account for that could affect your actual numbers:
- Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) in complex income situations
- Retirement projections assume consistent returns — actual markets vary significantly
- Mortgage calculators may not capture all lender fees, PMI variations, or escrow adjustments
- State tax calculations may not include all municipal or local taxes
- Self-employment calculators assume standard deduction — your itemized deductions may be higher
Think of our numbers as a starting point — useful for planning conversations with professionals, not as final figures you'd act on directly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use USA FinCalc results on my tax return?
No. Our calculators provide estimates for planning purposes only. For official tax filing, use IRS-certified tax software or a licensed CPA.
How accurate are the tax bracket calculations?
Our brackets are sourced directly from IRS publications and are updated every January. For mid-year calculations, we note the applicable tax year prominently on each calculator page.
Does the mortgage calculator include all costs?
Our mortgage calculator estimates principal + interest + estimated property tax + insurance (PITI). It does not include all possible lender fees, HOA dues, or specific local taxes. Always get a full Loan Estimate from your lender.
